Training | EMS | Compliance

The Assistant Chief of Training is a driving force behind the strength and professionalism of the Chillicothe Community Fire Protection District. This role goes far beyond scheduling classes — it’s about building firefighters. The Assistant Chief ensures that every member is not only trained to meet the minimum standards, but also challenged to exceed them through realistic drills, hands-on simulations, and ongoing education. From fireground operations to technical rescue, from medical response to compliance, the Assistant Chief of Training sets the bar high and makes sure our people are ready to clear it.

Training isn’t just a requirement — it’s the heartbeat of the department. Under this leadership, firefighters sharpen their skills, learn to adapt under pressure, and gain the confidence needed to perform when seconds matter. Whether it’s live-burn evolutions, EMS refreshers, or department-wide multi-company exercises, the training program is designed to push members toward mastery and prepare them for anything they might face.

The Chillicothe Community Fire Protection District proudly provides Emergency Medical Responders (EMR level) on every call. These responders represent the direct link between training and real-world action, applying the skills they’ve honed to deliver lifesaving interventions in those first critical minutes.

To ensure the highest level of care, the district partners with Advanced Medical Transport (AMT), guaranteeing that an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance is always stationed within district boundaries. This means our community has immediate access to advanced pre-hospital care. And when multiple emergencies strike, a second ALS ambulance is dispatched from Peoria, ensuring no call goes unanswered and every resident receives the attention they deserve.
